Arcare Breaks Ground on the Future Fort Smith Medical Clinic and Pharmacy

FORT SMITH, ARK. October 7, 2026 — Arcare held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new Fort Smith Medical Clinic & Pharmacy on October 6, 2026, celebrating its commitment to expanding access to affordable, high-quality healthcare in Fort Smith and surrounding communities.

Located at 2709 Massard Road, the two-story campus of more than 18,000 square feet will provide primary care, behavioral health, rheumatology, TruBlu Infusion, and pharmacy services, further strengthening Arcare’s mission to bring “Health for All” to the Arkansas River Valley. The campus is expected to open in 2027.

“At Arcare, we have an internal motto that we expand from strength. In Fort Smith, we have a very strong rheumatology clinic and staff that have given us the strength to expand our service lines to include primary care, behavioral health, and pharmacy in a new state-of-the-art facility,” said Clint Shackelford, Arcare COO.

When the campus opens, Fort Smith Rheumatology and TruBlu Infusion will move from their current location at 1501 South Waldron Road to the new facility. Patients will continue to be seen at Waldron Road until then. As with all Arcare clinics, patients will be able to receive care regardless of insurance or the ability to pay.

Alex Collier, President of DeltaBlue Construction, spoke about the care going into the building itself.

“We’re proud to be part of bringing this project to life and delivering a quality, valuable asset to Fort Smith and the surrounding community. From the layout and functionality of the building to the details going into its construction, our goal has been to build a facility that will serve this community well for many years to come. We want to thank Arcare for its significant investment in Fort Smith and its commitment to creating a healthier Fort Smith and a healthier Arkansas. We’re honored to play a part in bringing that vision to life.”

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Arcare leadership, DeltaBlue Construction team members, Arcare’s Fort Smith Rheumatology staff, and members of the Fort Smith community. The event included remarks and a ceremonial groundbreaking.
