KentuckyCare Clinics Change Name to Arcare
Name change unites clinics across four states, following new Arcare pharmacy opening in Barlow
PADUCAH, KY. (August 18, 2026)— This September, KentuckyCare clinics across western Kentucky will adopt a new name: Arcare. The change reflects a unified identity across the Mid-South while maintaining the same trusted providers, services, and patient care.
Founded in 1986 in rural Arkansas, Arcare has grown into a regional network of clinics and pharmacies dedicated to ensuring quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare for all. KentuckyCare has always been part of the Arcare family and shared its mission; the company simply used a different name in Kentucky. Last year, the network’s Mississippi and Memphis clinics adopted the Arcare name. With this update, every location across Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Tennessee now shares one name.
“From the beginning, Arcare’s vision has been to improve health outcomes and promote health equality in every community we serve,” said Dr. Steven Collier, CEO of Arcare. “This name change won’t affect the quality of care patients receive. It simply helps us move forward together as one, united organization.”
The transition follows the August opening of a new Arcare pharmacy at 137 S. Fourth Street in Barlow, providing Ballard County residents with access to prescriptions, immunizations, and pharmacist consultations close to home. The Barlow medical clinic adopted the Arcare name alongside it, making Barlow the first community in Kentucky to carry the name.
“When we were preparing to open our new pharmacy in Barlow, it was the perfect opportunity to begin the name change throughout our Kentucky footprint,” said Chris Gibson, COO of Arcare in Kentucky. “Our patients here have trusted us with their care for more than three decades, and that does not change with a new sign on the door. What it does give our communities is the full strength of a four-state network behind every clinic visit, every prescription, and every provider relationship they already count on.”
Aside from the new name, nothing else will change for patients. Appointments, providers, insurance coverage, prescriptions, medical records, and patient portal logins will all remain the same, as will clinic phone numbers, hours, and locations. Patients will simply see the Arcare name and logo on signs, materials, and online at www.arcare.net. Visitors to kentuckycare.net will be directed there as well.
Arcare’s mission, Health for All, remains unchanged: caring for every patient regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.
